William A. (Bill) Davis, beloved husband of Carole (Kinduell) Davis, father of William (Susan) Davis Jr., Sue (Jerry) Moore, Michael (Teena) Davis, and Mark (Maris) Davis, died on July 29, 2016 at his home in Florence, Kentucky.
A resident of the Cincinnati area since 1990, Mr. Davis was born April 19, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to James and Mildred (Teas) Davis. He served in the Marines from 1946 to 1948, graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, and enjoyed a long career, first in the advertising industry, then in later years, the behavioral health care industry.
Mr. Davis was a recovering alcoholic and recently had celebrated over 40 years of sobriety. As an active member and sponsor in the AA program, Bill Davis helped numerous individuals in their fight with addiction.
Mr. Davis was known for his sharp wit and his desire to be around people. He loved to play bridge, he was an avid golfer playing well into his 80’s, and grew roses as his hobby.
Besides his wife and kids, Mr. Davis is also survived by his grandchildren Ryan Davis, Lindsey (Davis) Radek, Mackenzie Moore, Elizabeth Davis, Angela Davis, and Murphy Davis and his great-grandson EJ Radek.
Visitation is Wednesday, August 3, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Charlie’s ¾ House, a transitional living facility for recovering alcoholics, located in Cincinnati.
