William J. “Bill” Roell, 82, of Latonia passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at his home.
Bill was born on July 9, 1941, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky to Ambrose and Mildred (Hammer) Roell. He was a well known and respected Automotive Artist. He enjoyed woodworking, was a car enthusiast and enjoyed telling a good story. Bill received several awards and honors over his career, but he was most proud of receiving the National Hot Rod Association Lifetime Achievement Award, 2011 Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee; 2021 Kil-Kare Dragway Hall of Fame inductee; and being a member of the Confederates Car Club of Ludlow.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Alicia Jo (Goss) Roell on June 21, 2023; his parents, Ambrose and Mildred Roell; and two sisters, Donna Brummett and Linda Fiehrer.
Survivors include his daughter, Nicol (her husband, Tim) Buckley; son, Benny (his wife, Dara) Roell; brother, Jerry (his wife, Nancy) Roell; four grandchildren, Crosley Roell, Kelyn Roell, Emaline Buckley and Eli Buckley; and a host of friends and extended family.
The family is holding a Reception to honor Bill's legacy on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at the Newport Elks Lodge, 3704 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
