Ward Richard Long, 76, of Independence, formerly of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
Ward was born on February 16, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Thurman and Irene (Bowers) Long. He spent most of his career in Maintenance and Property Security. Ward was a former member of the Iron Horsemen Motorcycle Club of Kentucky.
He was a man strong in his faith, he loved riding his motorcycle, the Smokey Mountains and animals.
Ward was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Irene Long; sisters, Loretta Castner and Wilma; and a brother, James Long.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Judith Ann “Judy” (Jones) Long; daughter, Tia Long; son, Richard (Lori) Long; six grandchildren, Matt, Corey, Emi, Taylor, Ashton and Jacob; and four great grandchildren.
No Visitation. Graveside services are 11:00 am Friday, August 30, 2024, at Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger is serving the family.
