Hebron

Wanda Irene Gingrich Trinkle passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, 11 days shy of her 99th birthday.

She was born in Topeka, Kansas in 1922 to Levi and Nancy Gingrich.  After high school, she moved to California where she met her husband.   Dallas Trinkle was an inventor and dabbled in many areas.  They moved to Dayton, Ohio and eventually to Cincinnati, where he developed and manufactured orthopedic instruments.

In 1954 they bought 120 acres and moved to Hebron, Kentucky, with dreams of building concrete housing. Wanda worked in the machine shop with her husband and children.  In the 1970’s she worked as a legal secretary for Taft, Stettinius, and Hollister.  By the mid 1980’s she was working for Acramold Engineering in Burlington, with her elder sons, before retiring completely in 1991.

Her later years were spent caring for her grandchildren and enjoying her freedom. Wanda became a member of Bullittsville Christian Church in 1973 where she was very active until 2015. Wanda loved reading, church history and the arts.  She supported the symphony and local theaters.  She was also active in the community, including the NKY Interfaith, the Republican Party, and promoted the Holocaust memorial services.

She is preceded in death by her eldest son, Dallas Jr. and her parents.

She is survived by five children, Stanford Trinkle, Debbie Carroll (Robert), Daniel Trinkle (Kathryn), Carlton Trinkle (Ania) and Elizabeth Schlemmer (Marc); daughter in law, Gail Trinkle; eight grandchildren, Bryan Trinkle (April), Dallas Trinkle III (Devon Hague), Christine Trinkle (Jonathan Wenk), David Trinkle (Amanda), Molly Cho (Sam), Hannah Conyer (Drew), Zach Trinkle (Erica), and Samuel Trinkle; and six great grandchildren.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, face masks must be worn and attendance is limited to 50% of the funeral home's capacity while still maintaining a six feet of social distance. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron, Kentucky from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m.
