Vera Conrad King, 72, of Nashville, formerly of Hebron, passed away on April 3, 2010.
She was born on August 10, 1937 in Burlington, Kentucky to Ivan N. and Addie Long Conrad, the youngest of eight children.
She is survived by her three children: Jeffrey (Kathy) King of Hendersonville, Joline (Mark) West of Cottontown, and Douglas (Lisa) King of Hinsdale, Illinois; her six grandchildren: Katelyn King, Nicholas West, Brett West, George King, Anthony King and Dominic King; and her sister, Evelyn Edwards of Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and three brothers: Orville (Betty Jo) Conrad of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Russell (Virginia) Conrad of Wooster, Ohio and Gene (Audrey) Conrad of Hebron, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three of her brothers.
Vera was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, and a proud supporter of her alma mater. She was a member of Hillwood Country Club and the Golf Club of Tennessee, and an avid golfer for over twenty-five years.
Vera was a life-long Lutheran, and long-time member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nashville, where she was an active member of the altar guild, the Church Council, and the Mary-Martha Circle.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 9 at 11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nashville. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 8 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home, and one hour before the funeral service at the church.
