Rose Catherine Michaels, 88, of Covington passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at Woodcrest Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elsmere.
Born January 2, 1927 in Covington to the late Jacob and Josephine Kohler Michaels, Catherine was a homemaker and the primary caregiver for her mother, Josephine and her brother, John. Family was Catherine’s top priority. For many years, most of her siblings lived in the same dwelling. They helped each other through many of life’s circumstances.
She later resided for 17 years at LaSalle Garden apartments and has many friends there. Catherine acquired many friends throughout her life, most recently with her caregivers at Woodcrest. Her dear friend, Ruth Marriott, presently her next door neighbor at Woodcrest and longtime family friend, faithfully visited with her daily.
Catherine was a lifelong member of St. John Church, Covington and in her later years, attended Mother of God Church, Covington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Margaret Nienaber, Mary Lucille Kruse, Hilda Detherage, Mildred Lucas and John Michaels.
Surviving are six nieces and two nephews; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Friday, July 3, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. John Church, Covington. Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment at St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington is serving the family.
