Biography

Roggerio L. "Roger" Nocero, 77, of Covington, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Covington. He was a thoroughbred horse trainer, primarily working out of River Downs and Turfway Park.

Mr. Nocero was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War with Company K of the 5th Cavalry Regiment. He was a member of St. John Church of Covington.

Survivors include sons, Rinzy (Kim) Nocero of Grove City, Ohio and Giovanni (Denise) Nocero of Independence; daughters, Angela Nocero of Erlanger and Julia Person of Tampa, Florida; sister, Erminia Nocero Desiderio of Covington; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mario Nocero; a grandchild; sisters, Philamina Koch, Giovina Nocero, and Katherine Parsons; brothers, Macistro Nocero, Bonifaggio Nocero, Carmino Nocero, Rizzierio Nocero, and Rudolfo Nocero; and his parents, Aniello and Maria Greco Nocero.
