Robert "Bob" Briddell

The Life of Robert Albert Briddell
1963-2017

Robert A. Briddell, 54, peacefully passed on December 1st, 2017. Bob, son of Robert E. and Marie (Waldbart) Briddell was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was the husband of Kristi Marie Ahrens, father of Maria Ahrens Briddell and Maya Ahrens Briddell all of Hebron, Kentucky. Bob will be dearly missed by sister Jean Briddell and husband Aaron McLachlan of Kingscliff, NSW, Australia; in laws Phil and Linda Ahrens of Huntingburg, Indiana; Cheryl Richardson and husband Dave of Ft. Worth, Texas; Greg Ahrens of Evansville, Indiana; Jason Ahrens of Atlanta, Georgia and many other dear friends and family members.

Bob, a scholarly man, was a 1985 graduate of Indiana University. He recently served as the Scientific Director of ViaCord, Inc. of Hebron, Kentucky and was a long-term biological researcher at Amgen, Inc. Bob was a devoted husband and father and especially enjoyed family gatherings at his lakeside cabin and farm near Huntingburg, Indiana. Bob never met a stranger. He loved conversations with everyone and his acquaintances soon became his friends. You only needed minutes with Bob to know he was a genuine, kind, and brilliant person. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Indiana Hoosiers. He especially enjoyed sharing the successes of these teams with family and friends over a few beers. Bob fought a long and valiant 20-year battle with cancer. He was the beneficiary of additional years of life due to the devoted care from his wife Kristi and mother Marie. He is, and will continue to be, loved and missed by all.
