Robert C. “Bob” Shoemaker, 79, of Newport, formerly of Morningview, died Monday morning, February 13, 2012 at the Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. He was a retired Engineer for the CSX Railroad.
Bob was a lifetime member of Colonel Clay #159 F&AM Masonic Lodge and a United States Air Force Veteran of Korea.
Survivors include his sons, Robert (Sherry) Shoemaker of Morningview, James (Debbie) Shoemaker of Demossville and Jeff (Karen) Shoemaker of Butler; and
grandchildren, Chris (Christina) Shoemaker, Erik Shoemaker, Merideth Shoemaker, Kenton Shoemaker and Nancy Sue Shoemaker.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janis Balser Shoemaker in 1969 and his second wife, Georgia Williams Shoemaker in 2007; and his parents, Everett and Nannie Henderson Shoemaker.
Visitation is Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger. Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral service is Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.
