Robert L. Roth, 74, of Petersburg, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Florence. He retired after 35 years of service from Delta Airlines as a Supervisor of Avionics Mechanics.
Following his service in the United States Air Force, he began his career with Boeing Corporation and then moved on to work for Western Airlines until it was acquired by Delta Airlines where he remained until his retirement.
Mr. Roth was a member of the American Legion Post # 574 and the VFW Post # 6347. He enjoyed deer hunting and camping.
Survivors include daughters, Gloria (Tim) Joslin of Petersburg and Roberta (Danny) Dobbs of Hohenwald, Tennessee; sons, Elmer Roth of Middletown, Ohio and Samuel Roth of Independence; brothers, Floyd Roth of Mount Jewett, Pennsylvania and James (Connie) Roth of Redondo Beach, California; sisters, Shirley (Edward) Carlson of Banning, California and Maggie (Ronald) Little of Corona, California; grandchildren, Brett, Kristin, Trisha, Robert, Danielle, Benjamin, Adam, Valarie and Luke; and a great granddaughter, Jaelynn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Marie (Case) Roth in February of this year; parents, Elmer and Margaret Hoover Roth; and brother, Gerald Roth.
Visitation is Friday, August 9, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Petersburg Cemetery, Petersburg.
