Richard A. “Dick” Walker, 86, of Taylor Mill, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood.
He was born on September 18, 1927 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late John Dudley and Francis Ward Hicks Walker.
Dick was a finance manager and last employed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He was a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Memberships include St. Anthony Church, Elks Newport Lodge No. 273, BPOE and a graduate of Arkansas State University. Dick was a coach of many different sports, loved gardening and was a wonderful cook.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Wanda Gardner Walker, sons, Michael (Mary Kay) Walker of Crescent Springs, Jeff (Sheila) Walker of Union, daughters, Teri (Mark) Busse of Parrish, FL, Pat (Craig) Kuether of Ft. Wright, Michele (Greg) Cooper of Union, sister, Francis Enterline of Winchester, Tennessee, grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Madeline, Jordan and Jake Walker, Maria Ante, Clark, Alex and Andrew Busse, Grant Kuether and great grandchildren Brianna and Beau Ante.
