Ralph Lee Prabel, 89, of Burlington, died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Mountain Crest Rehab Center, Cincinnati.
Born February 25, 1925 in Constance, Kentucky to the late Harry and Flora England Prabel, Ralph was retired baggage handler with American Airlines and an associate with MIddendorf-Bullock Funeral Homes. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Burlington, the Hebron Masonic Lodge #757, and the Scottish Rite.
He was a United States Army veteran, having served during World War II. As a Tech 5th Grade, Ralph participated in the D Day Invasion of Normandy and Omaha Beach and Northern France. He earned the EAME Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, one Bronze Arrowhead, the French Croix DeGeurre with Palme Star, and the Jubilee of Liberty Medal.
He is survived by his daughter, Peggy L. Prabel of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma McGlasson Prabel on July 28, 2008.
Visitation is Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Funeral Service is Monday, March 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors, at Hebron Lutheran Cemetery.
