Peggy Johnson

Our sweet, loving mother, Peggy Yvonne Early Johnson, went home to Heaven on Friday, March 4, 2022.

She was an incredible Mom to four children, a devoted wife to our dad, William Kearney “Si” Johnson, for 64 years, and a grandmother to 12 and great-grandmother to 15. In her final years, she was also blessed to be in a committed relationship with her loving companion, Clyde Day.

A life-long "Ludlow girl", even after moving away, Peggy's life always led back to her Ludlow roots. In addition to raising a family, she was actively involved in the Ludlow PTA while her kids attended Ludlow Schools. Peggy held many PTA offices over the years and was extremely proud of her PTA work. Additionally, she was a volunteer at the First Baptist Church of Ludlow for many years, as well as a volunteer at the Ludlow Senior Center for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Si” Johnson in 2012; parents, Charles and Viola Phillips Early; and grandson, Christopher Lokesak in 2019.

Survivors include her daughters, Joni Burtner (Bradley), Lisa Dauwe (Butch) and Gina Gray (Kevin); son, Keith Johnson (Pam); her loving companion, Clyde Day; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation is Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow. Funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger.

Continuing Peggy's tradition of supporting Ludlow Schools, the Johnson family is creating a scholarship fund to benefit Ludlow High School students. Contributions can be made out to the William “Si” and Peggy Johnson Scholarship Fund, and mailed to Home Savings Bank, 202 Elm Street, Ludlow KY 41016.
