Ottis F. “Bud” Lowe, Jr., 94, of Kenton Hills, formerly of Ludlow, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth, Edgewood. He was a retired Vice President for Stewart-Decatur Security Systems, Inc. of Covington.
Bud was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Fort Mitchell Baptist Church and a former member of the Fort Mitchell Country Club and the Unity Lodge F & AM # 478. He attended the University of Cincinnati and enjoyed golf and UK Basketball.
Bud loved to reminisce. One story he told occurred during the Great Depression. His father and uncle, John Braun (Bob Braun’s father), had a chicken and egg route in Ludlow and West Covington. Bud sold chickens and eggs door to door thus earning his nickname in high school of “Eggs”.
Survivors include his second wife, Roberta G. “Bobbi” Tanner Lowe of Kenton Hills; a daughter, Cheryl L. (Patrick) Oquendo of Denver, Colorado; four step children, Judy Ramsey, Robert Lange, Philip Lange and Bill Lange; two grandchildren, Angie (Jason) Ott of Florence and Jerry (Anne) Arnold of Golden, Colorado; and two great grandchildren, Brian Arnold and Levi Arnold.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth S. Schroeder Lowe in 1994; parents, Ottis F. Lowe, Sr. and Bessie Hunnicutt Lowe; and a brother, Harry K. Lowe.
Visitation is Friday, November 4, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fort Mitchell Baptist Church. Funeral service is Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Reverend Dr. Terry Fields officiating. Entombment at Highland Cemetery Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell.
