Norma M. Flach Conroy, 97, of Covington, formerly of Ludlow, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at St. Charles Care Center, Covington.
Born in Ludlow, Kentucky, on April 19, 1914 to the late Charles and Rose Pillen Flach, she was one of four children. She attended Saint Boniface School and was a member of Saint Boniface Church, now known as Saints Boniface and James Church.
In 1938, she married Joseph "Joe" Conroy, who died at the age of 53. She retired from her job in Springfield, Ohio, sold her home, and moved back to Ludlow to care for her father, mother, sister, brother in law, and her mother in law. To show their appreciation for the care she provided, her family gave a nurses hat.
In 2000, she left the family homestead in Ludlow and went to live in the Village at St. Charles Care Center in Covington.
Fondly remembered by her family, her niece Elaine once said, "If Aunt Norma wasn't at a family party, it wasn't really a party." She was a humble person who felt like God's hand was definitely in her life.
Mrs. Conroy is survived by her brother, Charles Flach of Mobile, Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Alice Flach and Evelyn Eckes.
