Mary Louise Steffen Reckers, 94, of Covington, died Friday, October 30, at Rosedale Manor Nursing Home in Latonia. She was a retired Food Service employee with the Marydale Retreat Center.
Mrs. Reckers was instrumental in starting a lunch program at the former Mother of God Elementary School. She also worked in Food Service at the Redwood School. She was a member of Mother of God Church and the Ladies Altar Society of Mother of God. She was a charter member of the Board of the Parish Kitchen. She was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include her sons, Joseph C. (Nancy) Reckers, Jr. of Walton and Jack (Maggie) Reckers of Covington; grandchildren, Jeff (Jennifer) Reckers, Sarah (Jason) Prieshof, Kimberly (Peter) Boumis, Chad Carr, Kerry Carr, Holly Carr, Corey Carr, and Craig Carr; and great grandchildren, Morgan Reckers, Allison Reckers, Courtney Reckers, and Jacob Prieshof.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Reckers, Sr. in 1986; sisters, Margaret Pohlman and Evelyn Luckman; brother, John Steffen; and parents, John J. and Anna Quigley Steffen.
