Mary Dorning

Mary Helen Powers Dorning, 86, of Covington, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood. She was a retired Nurse’s Aide for St. Charles Nursing Home.

Born November 26, 1926 in Covington to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Schroeder Powers, Mrs. Dorning was a member of both, Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption Church and St. John Church, Covington. She also belonged to the Fussettes Club of Stan’s Café of Covington.

Survivors include sons, Gregory (Linda) Dorning, Covington, William B. Dorning, Covington,and Michael Joseph (Laurie) Dorning, Hebron; daughters, Judith Dorning, Covington and Jennifer Dorning, Cincinnati; sister, Betty (John) Adams, Fort Mitchell; grandchildren, Michelle Dorning, Megan Dorning, Andi Dorning, Elliott Dorning, Ashley Dorning, and Allyson Dorning; and great-grandson, Luke Warrington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman B. Dorning in 2011; brothers, Bill Powers and Tom Powers; and sisters, Ruth Anneken and Ginny Macke.

Visitation is Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption Church, Covington. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:00 Noon at the church. Entombment at St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is serving the family.
