Mark Charles Hempfling, 69, of Hebron passed away Friday, November 3, 2023.
Mark was born July 13, 1954, in Covington, Kentucky to Charles F. and Almeda Doris (McCain) Hempfling.
He was an orchardist on the family farm, Valley Orchards, for most of his life. He and his wife, Marcia, owned and operated numerous greenhouses and were well known for their apple fritters.
Mark was a Rural Route Mail Carrier for more than 21 years and a member of First Church of Christ, Burlington. He received his BS in Horticulture from Eastern Kentucky University, and he enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Marcia Gettinger Hempfling; daughters, Abbey (Kyle) Kuhn and Megan (William) Cadwell; son, Mitchell (Cassandra) Hempfling; a sister; two brothers; and six grandchildren, Harper Kuhn, Kellan Kuhn, Blakely Kuhn, Levi Cadwell, Evelyn Hempfling and Lorraine Hempfling.
Visitation is 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Funeral services to immediately follow at 4:00 pm. Interment will be in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery.
