Linda Dixon

November 23, 1957 — March 11, 2011

On November 22, 1957, Linda Anne Perkins entered the world, though the day may have been memorable to many, but the day she left, March 11, 2011, will never be forgotten by many more.

Linda was a friend to all, a caring and loving individual. She was quick with a kind word, quicker with a hug, and always willing to talk and listen. She was well known to share the beautiful works of her hands with others; often drawing beautiful pictures of individuals and things that touched her heart. She wrote loving poems, painted beautiful pictures and made beautiful cross stitch creations and quilts for others just to express how much they meant to her. She was never shy to show how much she genuinely cared about others. She would give you not only the shirt off her back, but her coat and shoes too, if she knew she could help you in some way. Selfless doesn’t even come close to the compassion she showed to those who knew her and even those who didn’t. Some would say she loved too much, if that is possible. Ultimately, it was her loving and trusting nature that took her from this world and into the next; where she is now in the presence of her Savior.

Linda enjoyed the outdoors. She loved to fish, spending time with friends, and always looked forward to her Sunday Bible study. She was a member and a daily watcher of the Shepherd’s Chapel. She loved learning about God and growing closer to Him. In a handwritten note found in Linda’s Bible, she wrote how much her life had changed since she allowed the Lord to fully come into her heart and lead her life’s path. Linda will be missed by her family, friends, and coworkers at Terminix, where she worked the last seven years of her life.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Herbert W. Perkins of Newport and her late husband, Russell E. Dixon of Ludlow.

Surviving are her children, Amanda Frazier and Curtis Frazier, along with her beloved grandchildren, David, Chloe, and Emmarie, all of Ludlow.

Linda also leaves behind her mother, Dorothy Coburn of Rock Hill, South Carolina; sisters, Donna Stillwell of Nashua, New Hampshire and Vicki Fernandez of Middleboro, Massachusetts; and half siblings, Michael Perkins of Portsmouth, Ohio and Patty Redden of Rock Hill, South Carolina. Linda also leaves behind multiple nieces, nephews, and many more unofficially adopted children and grandchildren. Linda also leaves behind her beloved sister-friend, Myra Barbary of Rock Hill, South Carolina.

A memorial service was held at Terminix in York County, South Carolina on Friday, March 18, 2011. A second local memorial service is Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 12:00 Noon First Baptist Church in Ludlow. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m.
