Leroy Goetz, 85, of Covington passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017. He was retired from Prince Reproductions of Cincinnati.
Leroy was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, longtime member of St. John Church, Covington, member of Covington Turners for more than 60 years, and member of the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame. He played softball well into his 60’s with Dixie Novelty and semi pro baseball with the Covington Merchants. He enjoyed golf and was an avid UK, Bengals and Reds fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Elizabeth Allerstoerffer Goetz; sisters, Marcella Stolz, Loraine Altevers, Rosemary Scott and Ruth Borros; and brothers, Raymond Goetz, Howard Goetz and Jim Goetz.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews and a brother in law, Hodge Borros.
Visitation is Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. John Church, 627 W. Pike Street, Covington. Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington is serving the family.
