Juliana “Julie” Durcan Klaene, 71, of Cold Spring died Friday, December 9, 2011 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth, Fort Thomas. She was a retired Owner and Floral Designer of the former Sunshine Florists of Edgewood and held the designation of A.F.I.D. (American Institute of Floral Designers).
Mrs. Klaene was a member of the Kentucky Floral Association and was an artist, primarily working with watercolors and acrylics. She attended St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring and was a graduate of the former LaSallette Academy, Covington.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Klaene of Cold Spring; daughter, Anna Klaene of Alexandria; son, Jason Klaene of Independence; and three grandchildren, Emily Klaene, Mara Klaene and Sydni Klaene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Elizabeth Roche Durcan; and sons, Christopher Klaene in 1999 and Adam Klaene in 2011.
Catholic Blessing is Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
