Joyce Abdon

Joyce Marie Hensley Abdon, 71, of Petersburg, died Sunday, June 2, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood.

Born November 23, 1941 in Petersburg to the late Ernest A. and Pauline Sams Hensley, Joyce was a retired Warehouse Worker with Gates Rubber Company and a member of Petersburg Baptist Church. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and crafting.

Survivors include son, Trevor Abdon of Petersburg; sisters, Georgia Hensley of Los Angeles, California and Shirley Hensley of Rose Hill, Virginia; brother, James Hensley of Petersburg; grandchildren, Heather Abdon, Tiffany Abdon, TJ Abdon, and Zack Griffan; and nephew, Vince Turner of Petersburg.

She was preceded in death by husband, Lawrence E. Abdon; and son, Dennis Abdon.
