John Lawrence Sullivan, 91, of Ludlow, died Monday, September 16 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth, Edgewood. He retired from the United States Marine Corps, with his longest assignment being Embassy Duty.
Born August 7, 1922 in Ludlow to the late James Patrick and Frances Breuer Sullivan, John was a life member of the Marine Memorial Club in San Francisco and a member of the Ludlow Seniors.
Surviving is wife, Teresita E. Espedilla Sullivan; sons, Sean Sullivan of Ludlow and John Sullivan of Maine; daughter, Rosalie Lacaba of Park Hills; grandchildren, Ethan Powell of Ludlow, Stephanie Menard of Maine, and Hailey and Hannah Lacaba of Park Hills; great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Hannahbelle, Paige, and Dallas Menard; brother, Joseph Sullivan of Edgewood; and sisters, Sr. Domanic OSB of Villa Hills and Sr. Rose SCN of Bardstown.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Libby Mills, Terry Helton, and Sr. Teresa Catharine SCN; and brothers, James Patrick Sullivan, Jr., Thomas Martin Sullivan, and Daniel M. Sullivan.
Visitation is Friday, September 20, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow. Funeral Service to follow at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.
