Joan Hoene

Joan Ann Von Hoene, 72, of Covington died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood.

Born January 9, 1941 in Covington to the late Cyril and Opal Thornton Von Hoene, Joan was a graduate of the former LaSallette Academy of Covington. For several years she worked for the Citizens National Bank of Covington and retired after 25 years from the Covington Independent Schools in the central office.

A Kentucky Colonel, Joan’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends and her many trips to Florida.

She will be deeply missed by her three brothers and sisters in law, Don (Kathy) Von Hoene of Bradenton, Florida and Rick (Sue) Von Hoene and Greg (Vicki) Von Hoene, both of Villa Hills; niece, Stephanie (Bryan) Bishop; nephews, Ted (Kelly) Von Hoene, David (Amanda) Von Hoene and Brad (Brittany) Von Hoene; and three great nephews and two great nieces, all whom she loved like they were her own children.

Visitation is Monday, June 10, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. A Catholic Blessing will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
