Jim Elliston

James Robert “Jim” Elliston, 85 of Hebron died Monday, July 14, 2014 at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. He retired after 38 years with Sears Roebuck Co., where he was the Service and Installation Manager and also worked in sales.

Jim served in the Merchant Marines, was a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, where he was the Sexton of Hebron Lutheran Cemetery, retiring in April 2004 after many years. He helped establish the Veterans Memorial Gardens at the cemetery, graduated from Hebron High School Class of ’49, was a member of the Hebron Liars Club and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and his winters in Florida.

Survivors include daughters, Pam (Glenn) Brison and Mary (Ed) Poland, both of Florence and Sandy (Mark) Lucas of Louisville; sons, Alan (Marsha) Elliston of Hebron, Larry (the late Pam) Elliston of Latonia and Ronnie (Barb) Elliston of Florence; step brother, Joe Klaserner of Burlington; 18 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Lee Elliston in 2003; his mother and step father, Evelyn and Joseph W. Klaserner; son, David Elliston in 2005; and sister, Judy Smith in 2013.

Visitation is Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at Hebron Lutheran Church, 3140 Limaburg Road, Hebron. Funeral services to follow at 12:00 Noon at the church. Reverend Dave Shockey officiating. Interment at Hebron Lutheran Cemetery, Hebron. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron is serving the family.
