Jeffrey Wade Jensen, 59, of Florence, Kentucky, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood.
Jeff was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was a 1969 graduate of Garfield High School in Terre Haute, Indiana. A Vietnam-era Army veteran, Jeff served two years in Germany.
He was a key player in the establishment of Expediters Online, a website for and about expediters, for which he served as a web journalist and a satellite radio broadcaster. He will be nominated as the first inductee into the Expediters’ Hall of Fame.
In earlier years, Jeff was a professional musician, playing drums with the Touchtones and other area bands.
He also worked as an expediter and a retail salesman.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Wilhelm Jensen; two daughters, Megan Jensen of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Keri Jensen of Cincinnati; parents, Jim and Eileen Guy Jensen of Bradenton, Florida; and three sisters, Jodi Jensen (Jan Strohl) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jill (Dennis) Sholl of Jamestown, North Carolina and Jerilyn (Tom) Dougherty of Liberty Township, Ohio.
