Jeffrey Bishop

Born June 4, 1956, Jeff passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 25, 2020 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Jeff is the beloved brother of Kathy Grant (late Rick Grant), Patty Guethlein (Bob Hoeweler) and Mark Bishop (Helen). Preceded in death by his loving parents James and Jessie Bishop, Jeff is survived by his nieces and nephews that he considered his own, Tony Heitz, Megan Gooding, Tyler Guethlein, Josh and Ryan Bishop. He is also survived by his beloved grand nieces and nephews, Julian Heitz, Delaney, Gavin and Grayden Gooding, Kristen and Jessica Guethlein, Kate and Victoria Bishop. Also survived by members of his extended loving family Nichole Bishop, Gary Gooding, Kellie Guethlein, Magdalena Kazmierczak; all of his dear cousins and close friends.

Jeff worked in the box office at the Taft Theatre and Riverbend Music Center, the Board of Elections and as a dealer at the Argosy/Hollywood Casino.

Jeff spent his early years in Winton Place where he forged friendships that lasted a lifetime. He played softball and was an avid golfer who found enjoyment in his annual golf trips, attending concerts and sporting events, gaming at the casino and taking numerous vacations with his family. Jeff developed long lasting friendships everywhere he went. Family and friends were drawn to his carefree and fun-loving spirit. There was nothing pretentious about him. Always direct and straight forward in dealing with people, he often tempered that with an empathy and sweetness that could melt your heart. While he loved his independence, he loved being a vital part of his family even more. Jeff will always hold a special place in our hearts and live on through the memories we hold so dear.

Honoring his final request and due to CDC guidelines, there will be no service at this time. The family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date in a location to be announced.
