Jean Kennedy Niehaus, 95, died peacefully on June 28, 2011 at St. Charles Care Center, Covington. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph B. Niehaus, former mayor of Park Hills, Kentucky.
Mrs. Niehaus was the loving mother of Joe (Linda) Niehaus of Louisville, the late Thom (Sue) Niehaus of Canton, Ohio, John (Julie) Niehaus of Lutherville, Maryland, and Marty (Lynn) Niehaus of Cincinnati; sister of Betty Sidebottom of Erlanger; proud grandmother of 12; and great-grandmother to 19.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Mary [Mame] Kennedy; and sisters, Margaret, Mary, and Carol.
Jean was born and raised in West Covington with four sisters on Altamont Road. She worked at the former Closson’s in Cincinnati. She and Joe were long time residents of Park Hills and members of St. Agnes Parish. She gave her time, talents, and treasures to St. Agnes Church, Redwood School, Thomas More Women Guild, Covington Catholic High School, and St. Charles Care Center.
Jean’s family deeply appreciates the love and care shown to her by the staff at St. Charles Care Center. She was first a volunteer, then a resident, and then a patient.
Memorial Mass and Service is Monday, July 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. the Chapel at St. Charles Care Center. A reception will follow at the Care Center. .
