Jane D. Purdon, 87, daughter of Harry and Dorothy Phistner (Bethel, Ohio) passed away on August 26, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, William; and is survived by her sons David, Michael (wife Nelda), Paul (wife Paige) and grandson Benjamin.
Jane dedicated her life to education after graduating from Villa Madonna College (now Thomas More College), teaching at Villa Madonna Academy for 35 years and latter serving as both Principal and Dean of Students at Villa. She obtain her Juris Doctor from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, practicing family law for 25 years, and taught Business Law as an Adjunct Professor at Xavier University.
Jane was also civilly active providing her leadership with the Friends of Covington, the Northern Kentucky Heritage League, the Northern KY Arts Council and the Kentucky Humanities Council. Some of her favorite memories were her involvement with the annual Duveneck Art Show and Covington Beautification awards. For her civic contributions, she was recognized with the Covington Award by the City of Covington in 2010.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday August 30, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home 3614 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, KY 41018 followed by her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. A private graveside interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 South Loop Rd. Edgewood, KY 41017. Checks payable to St. Elizabeth Foundation for Hospice.
