James "Pop" LaFontaine, 80, of Elsmere, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018, at his home.
He was born on February 19, 1938, in Elsmere, Kentucky, to the late John and Zoe Ella Callendar LaFontaine. He was a retired meat cutter with IGA for many years and a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Elsmere.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy Heideman LaFontaine of Elsmere, Kentucky; sons, Paul (Pam) LaFontaine of Elsmere and Eric LaFontaine, of Elsmere, who was also his lunch buddy and devoted caregiver during his final illness; sisters, Margaret Ramler of Elsmere and Glenna Brosey of Florence, Kentucky; two adoring grandchildren, Megan LaFontaine and Matthew LaFontaine; three nieces; and two nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial is Monday, July 30, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church, 3813 Dixie Highway, Elsmere, KY 41018.
