James Van Schuyver

James C. Van Schuyver, 81, of Florence, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Boone Spring Nursing Facility in Union. He retired after 30 years in high security communications with the U.S. Air Force and retired as Chief Master Sergeant. 

James enjoyed casinos, horse racing, and piddling with cars. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, L. G. and Marjorie (Forsyth) Van Schuyver. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Judy K. (Spencer) Van Schuyver; daughters, Carla Van Schuyver, and Darla (Robert) Johnson; grandchildren, Derek Murray, Meagan Murray, Christopher (Logan) Johnson, and Kyle Johnson; great grandchildren, Tristan Koch, Ethan Fowler, Violet Johnson, Talon Johnson, and Isabelle Benjamin; sister, Betty Tolle; brother, Larry Van Schuyver; sister in laws, Ann Van Schuyver, and Ginny Bessignano; brother in laws, Bob Spencer, and Jerry Spencer; and many nieces and nephews. 

Memorial service will be at the rotunda at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
