James R. Thomas, 78, of Covington, formerly of Ft. Mitchell, died Monday, November 26, at the St. Charles Care Center. He was a retired Salesman with Truck and Trailor Supply of Cincinnati.
He was a Covington Catholic Alumni, Class of 1947 and attended Mother of God grade school.
He was a longtime scorekeeper for Knothole Baseball and a model train enthusiast.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and was active in their Nocturnal Adoration and Holy Name Societies. He was also a Blessed Sacrament Booster.
He was a former member of the Ft. Mitchell Recreation Board.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Radenheimer Thomas; sons, Stephen (Catherine) Thomas of Crestview Hills, Michael (Kimberly) Thomas of Edgewood, Gregory (Susan) Thomas of Ft. Wright; and David James (Laurie) Thomas of Villa Hills; daughter, Mary Beth (Thomas) Connelly of Crestview Hills; brother, Louis Thomas of Villa Hills; sister, Dorothy Mae Calvin of Covington; and eleven grandchildren, Kristen, Peter, Abby, Courtney, Shannon, Charlie, Lizzie, Brigid, Brendan, Neil, and Bryn.
He was preceded in death by parents, Louis C. and Mary Brueggen Thomas.
