Jack B. Harvie,78, of Ft. Wright, formerly of Arlington and Richmond, Virginia, and Sumter and Spartanburg, South Carolina, died Tuesday, January 15 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.
He was a retired former Executive Director of numerous branches of the Y.M.C.A., a former High School Football Official, an Elder of Lakeside Presbyterian Church at Lakeside Park, and a U. S. Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah McElroy Harvie; son, Wilson B. (Dawn) Harvie of Statham, Georgia; daughters, Sarah H. (Dr. John) Kitzmiller of Cincinnati and Jacqueline "Bootsie" (Roger) Wynne of Lexington, South Carolina; brothers, Llewelyn K. Harvie and Malcolm C. Harvie, both of Richmond, Virginia; sister, Margaret H. Cardwell, also of Richmond, Virginia; and grandchildren, Meredith O. Harvie, Jack W. Harvie, W. Charlie Wynne, Sarah Margaret Wynne, Jacqueline E. Kitzmiller, and Mary Katherine Kitzmiller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Llewelyn and Virginia Robinson Harvie.
