Irvin F. "Geek" Elsbernd, 79, of Covington, died Sunday, December 27, at Healthcare of St. Elizabeth, Edgewood. He was a retired Brick Layer with Krallman's and Sons Masonry.
Mr. Elsbernd was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served as Staff Sargeant during the Korean War. He was a member of St. John Church, the Covington Turners Society, and Kelly-Furnish Post VFW #7099.
Survivors include his daughters, Karen (Brent) Wilson of Delhi, Kathy Webster of Taylor Mill, Barb (Mark) Laws Haddox of Florence, Diane (Rick) Steffen of Ludlow, Tracy (Rick) Bishop of Lakeside Park, Mary (Dan) Hitzfield of Petersburg, Laura (Rick) Likens of Latonia, Julie (Joe) Carnes of Amelia, and Amy (Jeff) Stepp of Erlanger; son, Alvin (Renee) Elsbernd of Taylor Mill; brothers, Bernard Elsbernd of Erlanger and Max Elsbernd of Covington; sisters, Dell Doker of Lakeside Park, Delores Willen of Lakeside Park, and Ann (Charles) Faulk of Erlanger; grandchildren, Eric Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Jason Webster, Sarah Webster, Clyde Laws, Elizabeth Laws, Melissa Hoffman, Nick Steffen, Josh Steffen, Emily Bishop, Alex Bishop, Jacob Hitzfield, Lauren Hitzfield, Jared Likens, Jennifer Likens, Jonathon Carnes, Jessica Carnes, Maria Stepp, Gabrielle Elsbernd, Alivia Elsbernd, and Maxwell Elsbernd; and great grandchildren, Ryan, Brooklynn, and Emma.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie Ann" Kaiser Elsbernd; grandson, Ben Steffen; and parents, Bernard and Mary Lambers Elsbernd.
