Howard E. “Doc” Crail, 89, of Independence, formerly of Florence, died Tuesday, April 17, at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood.
He was born September 9, 1922 in Covington to the late Harry E. and Lena Faun McPheron Crail.
Mr. Crail graduated from Holmes High School and attended the University of Kentucky, Harvard University and graduated as a Civil Engineer from the University of Cincinnati. Howard worked for Cincinnati Gas and Electric for 29 years and retired in 1985 as their primary Civil Engineer. He served in the Army Corp of Engineers during WWII, was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity at UC and attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Florence.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hazel Conley Crail, son, Jerry E. (Anne) Crail of Baton Rouge, LA, daughter, Beverly (George) Beck of Independence, grandchildren, Margaret, April, Tiffany, Shane and great grandchildren, Naomi, Micah, Adoniah and Myles.
