Hobert "Gramps" Bowling, 95, of Burlington, died Sunday, November 23 at St. Luke West Hospital in Florence.
Mr. Bowling was a bluegrass musician, Past Master of Burlington Lodge, and attended Beaverlick Christian Church. He worked for Dubois Chemical and retired as Production Manager from Cincinnati Drum and Barrel.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Zelda "Mugs" Cole Bowling in 2005; son, Jerrell "Joe" Bowling in 1975; daughter, Lyla Dean Scott in 2007; and parents, George and Eva Boles Bowling.
Surviving are daughters, Bobbie Jean (Harold)Congleton of Burlington, Eileen (Bernie) Moore of Burlington, and Deborah (Richard) Anderson of Florence; sister, Mary Davidson of Manchester; brothers, Sherman Bowling of Verona, Hubert Bowling of Pennsylvania, Paul Bowling of Indiana, and Lee Bowling of Florida; grandchildren, Mary Ann Beetem, Kevin Wingate, Karen Passalaqua, Nicole Sturdivant, Jerry Mahan, Billy Ray Mahan, and Rene Arnsperger; and great grandchildren, Hollee Beetem, Elizabeth Winebrenner, Danielle Sanders, James Winebrenner, Gabriel Schehr, Sean Mahan, Sarah Mahan, and Taylor Shockey.
