Helen Schmerge

Helen Mae Gronefeld Schmerge, 88, of Erlanger, formerly of Covington, died Monday, December 22 at Villaspring Health Care Center in Erlanger. She was a retired Teacher's Aid at John G. Carlisle School in Covington.

Mrs. Schmerge was a member of St. John Church in Covington. She was a Kentucky Colonel and her hobbies included silk flower arranging.

Survivors include daughters, Cindy (Steve) Roach of Cold Spring, Donna (Ronald) Coldiron of Park Hills, and Charlene (Don) March of Crittenden; ten grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Schmerge; sisters, Betty Penick and Norma Delph; brothers, Larry Gronefeld, Bob Gronefeld, and Edward Gronefeld; and parents, John and Kate Emme Gronefeld.
