George Thomas "Tom" Womble, 77, of Covington died Thursday, September 18, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Covington. He retired after more than 35 years of service with Duke Energy as a power lineman, beginning his career with ULH&P in 1995.
Tom was an avid sportsman and member of the Kenton Game and Fish Club, having held several offices over the years and was a past member of the former St. Aloysius Church, Covington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel H. and Edna Harlow Womble; and a brother, Robert Womble in 2000.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Donna M. Gurren Womble of Covington; daughter, Tamra Womble of Covington; sons, Thomas C. Womble and Timothy S. Womble, both of Covington and Ted A. (Erin) Womble of Sunman, Indiana; brothers, Sam (Clara) Womble of Corinth and Jack (Sharon) Womble of Hebron; sisters, Jean Womble and Rosie James, both of Covington; five grandchildren, Sara, Emily, Elizabeth, Karleigh and Keaton; and four great grandchildren, McKenzie, Conner, Kaylee and Carson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 2:00 pm. To 4:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Catholic Blessing to immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
