Ethel M. Wingate Reeves, 85, of Independence, formerly of Centerville, Ohio and Ludlow, Kentucky, died Thursday, April 29 at her home. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Reeves was a member of Crescent Springs Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting, and bowling.
In her own words, this is how she hoped to be remembered: "I hope I will be remembered as having great faith in God and for helping others. I am very proud of my grandchildren. I hope they will remember me as a good and loving grandmother. We had lots of great times together. I just loved giving them presents and spoiling them."
"I made great chocolate chip cookies and cakes. I would make homemade chocolate and peanut butter fudge for our church bazaar at Crescent Springs Presbyterian and it would go fast! I enjoy crocheting afghans, doilies, and pot holders, and making lots of crafts. It was good to give my homemade things to my friends as gifts."
Survivors include her husband, Charles Junior Reeves; daughter, Joyce (Ralph, Jr.) Reeves Glaser of Erlanger; grandson, Ralph (Heather) Glaser, III of Hebron; granddaughter, Sherry (Cory Adkins) Glaser of Jonesboro, Tennessee; and great granddaughters, Sophia Glaser, Mackenzie Glaser, and Catherine Adkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Onnie and Cecile McKenzie Wingate.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 7388 Turfway Road, Florence, KY 41042.
