Ernest Lee Gamble, 64, of Union, fondly known as Mr. Ernie and Moose by the children of A.M. Yealey Elementary School, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at his residence.
Ernie was a former union carpenter Local #698 member and worked for Baker & Messer Construction Company. He also was a custodian at A.M. Yealey School and member of St. Paul Church, Florence.
He was born on June 28, 1948 in Cincinnati to the late Ernest Harvey and Mary Lou Vogt Gamble. He loved UK football, Bengal football and playing euchre.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Link Gamble; son, Bryan (Missy) Gamble of Mason, Ohio; daughters, Shannon (Mark) Bernstein and Kelly (Marty) Ziegelmeyer, both of Florence; sister, Eileen (Lindsey) Nichols of Villa Hills; brothers, Joe (Linda) Gamble of Florence, Nick (Peggy) Gamble of Lakeside Park, Bill (Cindy) Gamble of Florence, and Donnie (Judy) Gamble of Crestview; grandchildren, Austin, Bradey, Logan, and Isabella; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A sister, Alma Barth preceded him in death.
Visitation is Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Church, Florence. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Entombment at Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger is serving the family.
