Edwin P. "Ed" Hammons, 68, of Erlanger, formerly of Ludlow, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Florence. He was a Security Officer of L'Oreal through Guardsmark Security.
Ed was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member and Assistant Treasurer of Main Street Baptist Church of Florence.
Surviving is his wife, Linda Crawford Hammons; daughters, Teri Hammons of Newport and Amber (Dan) Lyons of South Shore, Kentucky; son, Tory (Lisa) Hammons of Covington; granddaughters, Cassandra Lyons of Lexington, Jean Nicole Lyons of South Shore, Tiffany Hammons of Erlanger, and Crystal Hammons of Florence; great grandson, Gauge Klette of Erlanger; step grandchildren, Christina Bennett of Newport and Thomas Bennett of Erlanger; step great grandchildren, Andrew Bennett of Erlanger, Rosalina Bennett of Newport, Natalia Bennett of Newport, and Ethan Bennett of Erlanger; sister, Martha (Cliff) Daley of Florence; and brothers, Harry E. "Eugene" (Loretta) Hammons of Crestview Hills, Harold Hammons of Felicity, Ohio, and Charles (Barbara) Hammons of Ludlow.
He was preceded in death by his son, Hayden Hammons in 1962; sisters, Nancy (David) Rivers and Helen Troxel; brothers, Elmer "Bud" (Betty) Hammons, Leo Hammons, and Billy Hammons; and parents, Dewey and Leona Fightmaster Hammons.
