Dr. Jerry L. Taylor, Sr., 71, of Ludlow, formerly of Louisville, died Friday evening, July 19, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood.
Born in Seymour, Indiana to the late Harold W. and Harriet Elizabeth Webster Taylor. Dr. Taylor was a graduate of Clarksville High School, Clarksville, IN and a graduate of the University Of Kentucky College Of Medicine. He was a Board Certified Pediatrician and Family Practitioner throughout his career, a member of the Kentucky Medical Association and most recently in private practice at Ludlow Primary Care until his health failed him. He had also practiced in Louisville, Mt. Sterling and Pikeville.
Dr. Taylor served in the Indiana Air National Guard. He served on the staffs at Southwestern College and Antonelli College.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Cooper Taylor of Ludlow; three sons, Jerry L. Taylor, Jr. of Crandall, Indiana, Jeffrey Taylor of Clarksville, Indiana and Jeremy (Tanika) Taylor of Madisonville, Kentucky; a step son, Chas Pangburn of Wilder, Kentucky; a step daughter, Kimberly (Jason) Shearer of Burlington; three sisters, Sharon (Dennis) Vandesteeg of Grapevine, Texas, Nancy Cavanaugh of Louisville and Kathy Law of Crothersville, Indiana; and seven grandchildren, Jeffrey (Danielle), Adam, Erin, Andrew, Trent, Tyson and Trey; one great grandson, Zachary and six nieces, Christin, Stacey, Jennifer, Kristin, Amy and Lindsey.
