Dr. Gregory L. Taliaferro, of Edgewood, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at his home. Son of Doris Leonard Taliaferro of Edgewood, KY and Philip Taliaferro of Erlanger, KY ; brother of Gina (Tom) Lofquist of Oakwood, Ohio, Laura (Rod) Conant, Sylvania, Ohio, Morgan Taliaferro of Louisville, KY and Philip Taliaferro of Erlanger, KY friend of Sharon Allen of Bardstown, KY; also survived by nieces and nephews.
Dr. Taliaferro's educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, both from the University of Louisville, a B.A. Cum Laude in Psychology and Social Studies from Northern Kentucky University; he was an alumnus of Dixie Heights High School-class of 1979.
He was employed in private practice with Cincinnati Center for Psychoanalysis, Inc., was a Rehabilitation Psychologist with Christ Hospital Acute Impatient Rehabilitation Unit and Co-Chair APA Task Force on Guidelines for Assessment and Treatment of Persons with Disabilities with the American Psychological Association. He also Co-chaired the development of Guidelines for Assessment of and intervention with individuals who have disabilities and was formerly a Research Consultant with Menninger Clinic, Topeka, Kansas.
His Doctoral Process included Post Doctoral Fellow with Menninger Clinic, Topeka, Kansas and C.F. Menninger Children's Hospital and Predoctoral Internship with Topeka State Hospital, Topeka, Kansas.
Other notable accomplishments include a membership with the Hand Transplant Team, Jewish Hospital, Louisville, Ky.-Psychological Examiner.
Professional Memberships include American Psychological Association, Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology.
In Lieu of Flowers Memorials to Dr. Gregory L. Taliaferro Endowed Scholarship, NKU Foundation, Northern Kentucky University, Lucas Administrative Center, Suite 221, Highland Heights, Ky. 41076. This scholarship will be awarded to a senior psychology major with a disability.
