David Roger Beasley, 83, of Florence, died Thursday, February 09, 2012 at his home. He was a retired Journalist and Copy Editor with the Cincinnati Enquirer.
David was a United States Army Air Corps and Air Force veteran, having served in both World War II and Korea. He was a member of the Friends of the Boone County Library and Boone County Historical Society. He was a former volunteer at Florence Volunteer Fire Department, the Oral History Project at Boone County Library, and the Division of Dependent Children’s Services of Kentucky. He was also a former reader for Radio Reading Service.
He was the photographer for the Boone County Pee Wee Football League for many years and the Assistant Editor of the UC Magazine during the 1960’s.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rae Mangold Beasley; daughters, Terry (Tom) Timmers of Erlanger and Cindy (Jeff) Fessler of Bellevue; son, Kevin (Kelly) Beasley of Burlington; grandchildren, Kristen (Nick) Covelle, Zachary Beasley, Daniel (Stephanie) Fessler, Joseph Fessler, and Devin Beasley; and great grandchildren, Tyler Covelle, Aidan Covelle, and Kayci Covelle.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Muriel Beasley; and infant grandson, Robert David Fessler.
David donated his body to the University of Cincinnati Anatomical Department.
A Celebration of David’s Life will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Plantation Pointe, Tara Clubhouse, 1330 Taramore Way, Florence, Kentucky. His Eulogy will be shared at 7:00 p.m. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger, is serving the family.
