Courtney E. Flint, age 84, passed away on December 14, 2018 at St. E. Hospice of a stroke. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Courtney was born August 6, 1934 in Lowell, West Virgina. He married Oveta Kathleen "Kathy" Bourne in Clifton Forge, Virginia. They were married for 62 years. He would often say, "I don't ever remember being single."
He attended, and was a member of, Kento-Boo Baptist Church for the past 58 years and held dual membership of First Baptist Church, Naples, Florida. He loved doing volunteer work. After he retired from GM as a Supervisor, he & Kathy were blessed to travel in their motor home seeing much of the USA and Canada. He had many wonderful friends in Naples where he and Kathy spent the past 27 winters. He loved to paint figurines. Maybe he didn't finish all his projects but he could always finish a piece of cake. His sense of humor brightened our lives.
He was a U. S. Army Veteran, having served in Korea and was recently privileged to tour Washington, DC on his Honor Flight with his grandson Rick as his Guardian. Seeing the Korean Memorial was very special.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. C. H. Flint, his mother, Zella Flint and brother, Sgt. Major C. C. Flint.
He is survived by his wife, Oveta Flint; three daughters, Karen (Bob) Arens, Teresa Noe and Barbara (Larry) Clifton; five grandchildren, Jessica Noe (Matt), Rick Arens (Ashley), Brian Arens (Crystal), Elizabeth Clifton (Rodney), and Joshua Clifton; four great grandchildren, Gavin, Scarlett, Nolan and Reese; two nieces, Pam and Tammy; and one nephew, Tracy.
