Charlotte Irene Von Handorf Froelicher, 94, of Covington died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Florence. She was a homemaker and community volunteer.
Mrs. Froelicher helped to found the Servicemen’s Lounge at the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati Airport. While her children and grandchildren were attending school, she was an active PTA member of the John G. Carlisle Elementary School, the former Covington Jr. High School and Holmes High Schools. She was very active in the Covington Community Center and the Covington Senior Center, a formerly active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Kersten O’Day VFW Post # 2899 of Dayton, Kentucky and a member of the Kenton County Republican Party.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard S. Froelicher, Sr. in 1980; her parents, Theodore and Estel Von Handorf; two daughters, Mary Rabe and Estelle Nunn; son, Teddy Froelicher; and son in law, Jim Rabe.
Survivors include daughters, Faye (Joe) Mueller of Covington and Marie (John) Hall of Florence; sons, Stanley (Debbie) Froelicher of Dry Ridge, Blake Froelicher of Florence and Joe (Peggy) Froelicher of Covington; daughter in law, Mary Froelicher of Walton; son in law, Henry Nunn of Burlington; sister in law, Rose Bedinghaus of Cincinnati; 29 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; and her loving and devoted pet companion, Jimmy King.
Visitation is Monday, March 18, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Church, Covington. Interment at St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
