Charles J. Reeves, 88, of Independence, formerly of Ludlow, and Centerville, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, November 17, 2010 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth in Edgewood. He worked for Western Electric for more than 35 years and was the retired Dayton Area District Manager.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, having served his tour on the Destroyer, USS McKee. He was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers Club, a 50 year member of Unity Lodge F & AM # 478, now Colonel Clay Lodge # 159, a member of the Covington Scottish Rite, and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.
Surviving is his daughter, Joyce (Ralph Jr.) Glaser of Erlanger; granddaughter, Sherry (Cory Adkins) Glaser of Jonesboro, Tennessee; grandson, Ralph (Heather) Glaser, III of Hebron; and great granddaughters, Sophia Glaser, Mackenzie Glaser and Catherine Adkins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel M. Wingate Reeves on April 29, 2010; brothers Ralph Reeves, Frank Reeves and Edward Reeves; sisters, Olga Hauck and Thelma Margolen; and parents, John Henry and Stella Herbstreit Reeves.
