Carrol Fay Rice

Carrol Fay (Casteel) Rice, 81, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Florence, Kentucky. 

Fay was born on October 15, 1943, in Harlan, Kentucky to Riley Edward and Edith (Carmical) Casteel. She was a longtime faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Ludlow and retired after many years of private housecleaning for numerous families. 

In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by her husband, William “Dan” Rice, I, in 2011; sons, William “Bill” Rice II, in 2003, and Ben Rice in 2001; sister, Patsy Burkhart; brothers, Kenneth Casteel and Timothy Casteel; sisters in law, Fairlane Casteel and Carmie Casteel; and brother-in-law, Donald Roberts. 

Survivors include her daughter Carrol Lee Rice Perez and her husband, Abelardo Perez; sisters, Lorraine (Arlon) Lyon and Dorris Jean Roberts; brother, George (Patricia) Casteel; five grandchildren, Andrew Rice, Victor (Noelle) Rice-Perez, Adelaida Rice-Perez, Isabel Rice-Perez and Lucero Rice-Perez; and a great granddaughter, Analia Rice. 

Visitation is 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, 400 Linden Street, Ludlow, Kentucky. Funeral services to immediately follow with Pastors Norman Rice and Mike Pelfrey officiating. Interment to follow in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright, Kentucky. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron is serving the family.
