Ann Wharton

Ann Pennington Wharton, 76, of Edgewood, KY, died December 9, 2012, at Saint Elizabeth Health Care, Edgewood following a brief illness.

Ann leaves, her two sons and their families: Bill and Julie Wharton of Florence, KY, and their children John and Helen and Haydon and Sandi Wharton of Union, KY, and their children Emma and Parker. She also leaves her Sister Nancy Pennington of Seattle, WA.

Ann was born and raised in Lexington Kentucky, the daughter of the late Dr. William and Alice Pennington. She was a graduate of The Emma Willard School and the University of Kentucky where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Ann was a retired executive for the Girl Scouts of America. She was a member of the Lexington Junior League in her youth and a voracious reader and sewer. Ann was known for her sense of humor, sharp wit, love of good food and of all things chocolate.

Services 6:00 pm, Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 16 East 4th Street, Covington KY, with a reception immediately following at the church. Visitation at church is from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
Visitation in Lexington is Friday, December 14, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Milward-Broadway followed by a graveside service in the Lexington Cemetery at 11:45 a.m.
